Description

From time to time, experts on the effectiveness of leadership ask the question: is leadership an art or a profession? Research and practical experience show that effective leadership requires leadership qualities and attributes rooted in the personality as much as it requires knowledge, skills and abilities that can be acquired through learning. Conscious preparation and skills development and reinforcement are particularly important for prospective and newly appointed leaders, who have the closest contact with executive staff and thus have a direct impact on the achievement of corporate goals.

Our leadership training aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the basics of leadership and to prepare participants to effectively fulfil their leadership role. During the training, we will learn about the different types of organisations and their respective leadership roles and responsibilities. It is important to understand the importance of cooperation between the leader and the organisation and the nature of leadership. The development of the expected leadership role and the recognition of leadership traps are also key elements of the programme.

The diversity of leadership styles and the basics of situational leadership are covered in detail. Participants will learn how to align their leadership and support roles and how to use the leadership toolbox in a meaningful way. For novice managers, conscious managerial communication is essential as it is the basis for effective teamwork and building trust with colleagues. In addition, clear and consistent communication helps to clearly communicate goals and to effectively carry out tasks.

Our aim is to ensure that participants are confident and effective in using the leadership toolkit and are ready to successfully manage their team.

The course uses a practical, interactive approach where situations commonly experienced by novice leaders are mapped out and then, following a methodological grounding, practised through a series of situations with trainer and participant feedback.

Suggested For

Primarily for prospective managers, managers already appointed but with little management experience. Also, for those who are not in a managerial position, but who are curious about the aspects of leadership and the tools that can be used, whether it is managing staff, communication, task assignment or feedback.

Benefits

During the programme, participants will learn the basics of leadership, gain a comprehensive knowledge of different types of organisations and leadership roles, which will help them in their everyday leadership work. They also learn how to develop effective collaboration with their team and how to avoid leadership pitfalls. By learning about different leadership styles and the basics of situational leadership, they will become more flexible and adaptable in managing individuals. Developing their leadership communication skills will enable them to deliver clearer and more effective messages. Finally, by mastering techniques for giving and receiving constructive feedback, they can develop better relationships with their colleagues, which will increase team cohesion and performance.
