UML course for business analysts
Description
The aim of the course is to learn how to describe business processes using Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN 2.0) diagrams and requirements analysis. The course includes a number of practical exercises, which are implemented using the Enterprise Architect design tool. Thus, the course will provide an introduction to the capabilities of the tool and its practical application.
Outline
- The business model as the basis for communication between the client and the designer/developer.
- Structure of UML diagrams, elements and relations used in business modelling.
- Principles of requirement analysis and UML based description. Hierarchy implementation in requirement analysis.
- Developing use cases based on requirements. Achieving consistency between diagrams.
- Building blocks of BPMN diagrams and their practical application in business analysis and design.
- Concept of design patterns, patterns applicable in business processes.
- Clarification of requirements, specification, business model with acceptance tests.
- Practical modelling, explaining real business processes using diagrams.
- Generate business analysis documentation using Enterprise Architect.
- Version tracking and collaboration in the application of Enterprise Architect.
Prerequisites
Completion of the UML Fundamentals (UML-SD) course or knowledge of the course. Knowledge of the software design process is recommended. As some of the course material is in English, a basic level of English at document reading level is required. The presentation will be in Hungarian, based on a Hungarian presentation.
