PRINCE2® Foundation course + exam

The aim of the training is to familiarise participants with one of the world's most popular methodologies, PRINCE2®, for project management and to prepare them for the international PRINCE2® Foundation exam.

The training is available for the new 7th Edition from May 2024.

PRINCE2®-based project management has become a de-facto standard, used in a wide range of public and private sector organisations. PRINCE2® provides organisations with a common language, common processes, roles and management solutions, whether for general or IT project management. PRINCE2 can help improve the efficiency and quality of projects; increase customer satisfaction and reduce costs.

At the end of the training, participants will be familiar with PRINCE2®-based project management procedures, process models and product-based design solutions, and will be able to prepare project plans, analyse risks, initiate projects, prepare project documentation and manage projects. They will also understand the basics of change management, quality assurance and product development management techniques. The knowledge acquired will provide the prerequisite for the advanced PRINCE2® Practitioner course.

The course is based on lectures, interactive exercises, case studies and exam preparation consultation. The PRINCE2® Foundation exam can be taken at a pre-arranged time following the training.

The PRINCE2® Foundation course is recommended for anyone who will be involved in projects, working with or managing projects, or who wants to improve their company's current project management processes. The course is ideal for project managers (project administrators, coordinators, supporters, managers, consultants), practicing project managers, programme managers, IT and HR managers.

• The project organisation: organisational structure, roles and responsibilities, the project management team, the project manager, team management, project supervision, project support, supplier relations
• Project design: objectives and the importance of design, components and types of design, design techniques, product-based design, design steps
• Project management: approving work packages, evaluating project phases, project tolerance, checkpoints and related reports, handling exceptions/unexpected events, handling project problems, project reporting
• Risk management: types of business and project risks, basics of risk analysis and risk management, risk log
• Quality: quality assurance, quality planning, product specifications, quality control and quality reviews
• Change management, configuration management: change management steps, approval/decision levels, impact analysis, configuration management basics
• Project Processes: project preparation and initiation, project management, project decision point management, project stage control, deliverables management, project closure
• Sample exam, questions and answers

Previous knowledge of basic project management concepts or participation in a project is strongly recommended, as the training focuses on the introduction and use of the PRINCE2 methodology and guidelines, and does not cover general project management basics. A short material will be provided in electronic format for participants to study before the training..
