No money or paper, only determination is needed for an IT career

Now all it takes is determination, aptitude and enthusiasm to embark on a new career. The new initiative by IBM and Training360 is unprecedented in the domestic market. They offer young Hungarians and career changers free training, employment from the second month, competitive salary and a stable, upward IT career opportunity.

We can read and hear all the time that IT professionals are in increasing shortage worldwide. This is no different in Hungary, especially since several global IT companies have located their development and operation centers in our country in the past decade, counting on Hungarian employees with analytical thinking who are well-positioned in international comparisons, and who can therefore expect stable employment opportunities and even outstanding remuneration in the medium term.

IBM and Training360 are responding to this phenomenon with an initiative never seen before in Hungary. You can still apply for the free Mainframe operator training, in which, from the second month, successful participants will be employed by IBM, receive a competitive salary, and further develop their skills while working.

Gone are the days when IT professionals were only available to those who, having completed several years of university education, had a high level of theoretical knowledge but lacked the practical knowledge required for the position, so they had to acquire it at their new workplace. As an IBM employee explained:

We are looking for applications from determined, talented people interested in IT who have not been able to enter the IT job market due to the lack of the usual IT qualifications, but who have the enthusiasm. This model fits organically with IBM's new-collar vision, which says that knowledge is not the key, but rather the diploma.

Mainframe computers are systems designed to process complex business data sets. The 92 largest banks and the top 10 insurance companies worldwide store and process customer data, manage their transactions and run their mobile applications on Mainframe computers. 90% of the world's banking transactions run through Mainframe systems, just as 80% of the world's business data is stored on these systems. IBM's Mainframe teams in Székesfehérvár and Budapest have gained experience in this field over the past 20 years, which guarantees that new colleagues can absorb the highest level and most up-to-date knowledge. Since this is a diverse field, ranging from handling basic problems, through multi-level system operation, to the implementation of complex projects, those who successfully complete the training will gain diverse IT knowledge in addition to the opportunity for development within the company, which will open up further opportunities for them.

It is therefore worth taking the plunge, as in the first round, interested parties are only required to fill out a short online application form, after which the multi-stage admission process begins. A professional degree is not a requirement. Applicants with at least a high school diploma, intermediate English language skills, sufficient determination, and a basic affinity for IT are welcome to apply.

As a partner of IBM, Training360 Ltd., which provides training, has gained extensive experience in the field of IT training in recent years, as they have placed hundreds of career starters and career changers on the path of the IT Career Start Program they operate, which is partially funded by the state. Moreover, their cooperation with IBM is not new either.

IBM brought this key area to us, and Training360 provided us with nearly a decade of knowledge on how to find and develop such a large number of talented future professional candidates in the most effective way. And, what is at least as important: how to help them integrate into their new profession and workplace in the most effective way. – said József Nyisztor, Managing Director of Training360.

Anyone who is interested in or has long been interested in a career in IT should keep up to date with the latest training and unique opportunities on the website https://karrierstart.training360.com/ .
